Our Turn

After many years of being the cool friends who enjoy everybody else’s kids (and after a couple of months of practice being the new aunt and uncle) it’s really nice to be able to share the news that it’s our turn now.

The little bundle of chaos arrives the end of March, 2009.

We’re happy.

B&B

Brian hopes the little one will hang around long enough to be an April Fool’s baby, thereby fulfilling the prophecy (which led to much back pedaling and apologizing and subsequent exile)

Overjoyed for you both!!

(And loved the old April Fool's joke referenced in the email. Lincoln, wrong? Never! At least not back in high school...)

Well... statistics show that healthy first time moms who are not induced go into labor, on average, at 41w1d. So, I'm not sure how late in March you are due, but it might be a possibility ;-). Of course if you announce it on your blog that day, no one will believe you, boy-who-cried-baby.

Mark and I are very happy for you both. Congratulations!!

I suppose you have to have one to really appreciate the joys of an ultrasound picture; it looks like a Rohrshach blot to me.

However, if you have an April Fool baby it will be next door to ME! I was born April 2 after a 48 HOUR labor (keep THAT in mind, Becca!). So I was originally due on March 31. So don't make predictions; unless you choose to induce on April 1, you'll get what you get.

I'm just catching up on my usual blogs, after spending far too much time at fivethirtyeight.com.

What wonderful news!! I can start crocheting cute things again. I'm so happy for both of you, and especially happy that your baby will be born during an Obama adminstration. How lucky for us all!

How wonderful for you! And I'm so happy the election suspense is over so the prospect of McCainPalin casts no shadow on your happy anticipation.

Congratulations! Offspring are both more work and more fun than I ever thought possible.
And I'll second the above comments- what, Michelle for a girl, Barack if it's a boy?

What great news! I'm casting an eye on my yarn stash now... hmmm... Knitting for babies means you have to actually get it done before they'll out grow it. I love a challenge.

And becca, don't listen to those "induce" people. If *I* can do natural childbirth, you will sail through just fine.

much love to your new family!
