Ode to Oregon, part 10

So lunch yesterday was a farmer's market special.

An ear of fresh sweet corn
Slices of heirloom tomato
Melange of raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries on cottage cheese.

Yum. Yet another reason why I love summers in Oregon.

I had a chance to go out to Oregon almost 4 years ago when I was college shopping with my son. (He ended up choosing Rutgers over Portland State)I liked the Portland area-I REALLY liked the different micro-breweries and fantastic wines that are produced in the Beaver State. What really blew me away was when we drove to Cannon Beach. Seeing the ocean with the rock formations and the huge pine trees coming out to the ocean's edge was one of the most striking examples of natural beauty I have ever seen. You can do a whole lot worse for a place to live.
